Beverly Joy Leilani Kaneakua of Wailua, Kauai, passed away peacefully at Wilcox Medical Center on September 9, 2026, at the age of 91. She was born in Lihue, Kauai, on August 18, 1935. Beverly served her community for many years as a dedicated receptionist in the Wilcox Emergency Room Admitting Department.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Caroline Apao; her daughter, Momi Kaneakua; her son, Jimmy-Boy Kaneakua; her grandson, Dustin Kaina Kaneakua; her brothers, McKinley Kim, Ernest Apao, Samson Apao, Mersberg Apao, and Harrison Apao; and her sisters, Helene Valdez and Christina Apana.

Beverly is survived by her loving husband, James Keoua Kaneakua; and her sons, David (Mita) Kaneakua Sr. of Wailua and Wesric (Andrea) Kaneakua Sr. of Wailua. She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren: Alyssa (Hanson) Kaneakua, Kanai Kaneakua, Shiloh (Mahea) Kaneakua, Kaliah Kaneakua, DJ Kaneakua, Devin Kaneakua, Cherina (Tony) Medeiros, Wesric Kaneakua Jr., Raylene Rivera-Alesna, and Rylan Rivera-Alesna;

Her 26 great-grandchildren: Bryce Dato, Kyven Dato, Sabryn Dato, Macyn Dato, Kaeson Hsu, Shiloh Louis Kaneakua Jr., Alissa Kaneakua, S'hirus Kaneakua, Urijah Kaneakua, Laveya Ann Kaneakua, Chayse Garcia, Niko Laborte, Cheylee Laborte, Khloe Laborte, Taylor Hi'i Inoshita, Mia Inoshita-Kaneakua, Drayden Kaneakua, Dustin Kaneakua, Zanden Montero, Diamyn Kaneakua, Dream Kaneakua, Hailey Hsu, and Kolton Hsu;

Her 7 great-great-grandchildren: Zayden Dato, Kahilena Kaneakua-Dabin, Makaiwa Kaneakua-Dabin, and Alea Ragragola-Kaneakua; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Private services will be held.
