Edward David Carr of Lawai, Kauai, passed away at Wilcox Medical Center on October 6, 2026, at the age of 78. He was born in Iowa on May 16, 1948. Ed served his country in the United States Air Force and later worked for many years as a skilled carpenter.

Married for 36 wonderful years to the love of his life, Ed and Nancy shared countless cherished memories and made many lasting friendships. From the old Koloa Broiler days and gatherings at Kalapaki Joe’s, to camping under the stars at Polihale and beyond. Ed’s warmth, companionship, and easygoing spirit touched everyone around him, and he will be deeply missed by many.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father.

Ed is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy Lou Carr; his stepchildren, Dexter (Luz) McKeeby of Anaheim, California, Jeff (Sue) Thomas (Sue) of Anaheim, California, Jack (Lisa) Thomas of Anaheim, California, Mindy (Dave) of Kekaha, Hawaii, and Holly (Richard) Kinsey of Colorado; as well as his extended family and many dear friends.
