Gerry Coyaso of Kalaheo passed away at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital on July 28, 2026, at the age of 60. He was born in Waimea on February 10, 1966. Gerry was a dedicated Senior Laborer for the Airfield and General Services Department for Koalani at PMRF.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marcelino and Isabela Coyaso; his brother, Damien Coyaso; his son, Austin Barretto; and his father-in-law, Apolinario A. Sagucio Sr.

Gerry is survived by his wife, Cheryl Coyaso; his sons, Adam (Christine) Coyaso of Puhi and Chace (Hanalei Jose) Coyaso of Kalaheo; and his daughter, Ashley (Tyson) Relacion of Kapaa. He is also survived by his 7 grandchildren: Taylor Relacion (Daniel Alonzo), Cody Relacion (Taelor Camelo), Teja Rita Siana Bactad-Barretto, Kekona Bactad-Barretto, Milton Relacion, Pōmaikaʻi Relacion, Kaileah Latu, and Makai Coyaso; his brothers, Russell (Valerie) Coyaso of Kalaheo and Alfred (Colleen) Coyaso of Lawai; his sister, Anna Marie (Howard) Tolbe of Eleele; as well as numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Services will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Holy Cross Church. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM, with mass to follow at 10:15 AM. A private burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date. The family requests casual attire.
