Jani Maureen Okura passed away on July 8, 2026, in Honolulu, Hawaii. She was born on April 4, 1956, in Spokane, Washington.

Jani will be remembered with love by those closest to her. She is survived by her husband, Wendell Okura; her daughter, Melia Okura of Hanapepe, Hawaii; her step-son, Tom Okura and his wife, Maddie, of Spokane, Washington; and her step-daughter, Sarah Okura and John Evans of Spokane, Washington. She is also lovingly remembered by her brother, James Raymond of Lynnwood, Washington; her sister, Molly Mason and her husband, Greg, of Bremerton, Washington; and her sister, Beth Bumb and her husband, Frank, of Tucson, Arizona. The love of her family, near and far, remains a lasting part of her memory.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Walter Joseph Raymond and Margie Jean Raymond, and by her brothers, Patrick Raymond and Michael Raymond. Their memory remained an enduring part of her life and story.

Jani was retired, a season of life that reflects years of work, care, and commitment. She leaves behind the quiet but meaningful legacy of a life rooted in family, connection, and the bonds she shared with those around her.

The family extends special thanks to Straub Benioff Medical Center, Nuuanu Memorial Park & Mortuary, and Garden Island Mortuary for their care and support.

Visitation will be held on September 26, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Hanapepe Hongwanji Mission in Hanapepe. A memorial service will follow from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the same location. In lieu of koden, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society or Fred Hutch Cancer Center in memory of Jani Okura.

Jani Maureen Okura will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
