Juanita Batis Parongao of Eleele passed away at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital on August 10, 2026, at the age of 92. She was born in Eleele on June 24, 1934. Juanita was a lifelong learner who had a sharp intellect and was very creative until the end.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul Parongao; her parents, Sabino and Honorata Batis; and 9 siblings.

Juanita is survived by her sons, Vincent (Joanne) Parongao, Vaughn (Iris) Parongao, Vernon (Jasilu) Parongao, Lance (Emmylou Martin) Parongao, and Kyle (Christie) Parongao; and her daughter, Lianne "Ani" (Jason Montgomery) Parongao.

She is also survived by her 12 grandchildren, Braxton Parongao, Gavin Miyazaki, Qyla Parongao, Cole Parongao, Macey Parongao, Jordan Parongao, Chase Parongao, Quincee Parongao-Fleming, Prestyn Kaed Parongao, Jaron Parongao, Ky Parongao, and Kylen Parongao; her 7 great-grandchildren, Zavynpraise Niau, Jaxon Parongao, Suki Parongao, Kaimālie Parongao-Vea, Nanea Parongao-Vea, Cambri Parongao, and Caylee Parongao; her sisters, Helen Ariola and Marie Ceballos; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM, with Mass to follow from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. Burial to follow at Kaua'i Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe. Casual attire is requested and flowers are open.
